Linda Coulombe, President
and Founder of LAM, has been in nursing for 25 years and lends her experience in the
Health Care field to provide the tenet for Latex Allergy Management. Ms. Coulombe is
currently the Nurse Manager of CPD and Surgical Services Instructor at South Shore
Hospital in South Weymouth, Massachusetts, as well as president of two consulting
companies. She holds certifications in the fields of Surgery, Materials Management
and Education and has held positions such as Manager and Educator for the Operating Room,
PACU, Day Surgery, and Central Processing departments. Ms. Coulombe is presently a
member of the Massachusetts Emergency Nurses Latex Allergy Task Force, is the Chairperson
for the Latex Allergy Committee at South Shore Hospital and holds a seat on the Product
Evaluation and Standards Committee and Latex Sub-Committee. Everyone who knows her
is familiar with the phrase, "Is it Latex Free?"
Linda Coulombe has
entertained audiences at many Latex seminars and her work has been published locally and
internationally. Her article "Latex Safe Carts for Bedside Patient
Care", published in the "International
Journal of Trauma Nursing", (January 1998, Vol. 4, #1) is
rapidly becoming the standard for establishing a Latex Safe method of treating latex
sensitive patients in the hospital environment.
